Dr. Ivan Adamovich spent his school years at the Colegio Andino in Bogotá, Douai School in Upper Woolhampton and at the Kolleg St.Blasien in the Black Forest. After two years of military service in Germany he studied Economics at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland. After earning his graduation he spent two years as a doctoral student at the Max Planck Institute for Research into Economic Systems in Jena (Germany) and was a visiting scholar at the Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley (USA). He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Fribourg and earned his PhD in Economics in 2003.

Since 2004, Ivan Adamovich has been active in wealth management in St. Gallen, Geneva and Zurich, serving on the Executive Board of Wegelin & Co. Private Bankers (2009 to 2012), Notenstein La Roche Private Bank (2012 to 2017) and Private Client Bank (from 2017 onwards). Since 2008 he has been a member of the Investment Committees in the respective institutions, including the Swiss Raiffeisen Group, the owner of Notenstein La Roche. At Notenstein, he was Deputy CEO and Chief Strategist, responsible for the flagship publication "Notenstein La Roche Dialogue". Today he is the publisher of the “Private Client Letter”.

Since 2018, Ivan Adamovich is the CEO of Private Client Bank AG in Zurich. Private Client Bank is a multi family investment office that focuses on wealth structuring and management. In addition, he serves on the board of family owned companies active in wealth management in several European countries and engages in charitable foundations, such as Progress Foundation (Zurich) and Fundación Educación (St. Gallen). Since 2017, Adamovich has been Lecturer for Applied Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Lucerne. Together with Prof. Christoph A. Schaltegger he published a book at NZZ Libro: "Vom Kredit zur Schuld - Wenn Verschuldung die Freiheit bedroht".
